Schools, Other Facilities Closed Due to Weather

UPDATE, 3:09 p.m. Sunday: All three College of Lake County campuses—in Grayslake, Vernon Hills and Waukegan—will be closed Mondaydue to the weather. 

CLC officials shared this additional notice on the college website: "Since offices will not be open on Monday, the deadline for tuition payments for the Spring 2014 Semester has been extended to midnight, Tuesday, Jan. 7, and the drop for nonpayment will occur on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Students will therefore have one additional day to pay in full or set up an installment payment plan, which can both be done through the college's online payment page."

UPDATE, 2:06 p.m.: Westlake Christian Academy and the Lake County High Schools Technology Campus will both be closed Monday, according to the Emergency Closings Center website.

UPDATE, 1:39 p.m.: Old School Montessori and Prairie Crossing Charter School will also be closed Monday due to the weather.

"As a result, before school care and after school care have also been cancelled. There will be no clubs meeting tomorrow," Prairie Crossing officials shared on Facebook. "Based on the weather report, we will notify you by tomorrow evening if school will be cancelled for the next day."

Original story: Grayslake Central and North High Schools and the Grayslake Area Public Library have been added to the list of facilities that will be closed Monday due to the extreme cold.

Grayslake Community High School District 127 announced its closings on the district website: "Due to inclement weather, classes as well as all activities, athletic events and practices have been canceled for Monday, January 6th at both Grayslake Central and Grayslake North. District and building Offices are closed."

The Grayslake Library announced on Facebook that the library will be closed Monday and reminded patrons that the library is "open 1-5 today (Sunday) so come on in and stock up on good reads and movies."

Gloryland Preschool will also be closed Monday, according to the Emergency Closings Center website.

Community Consolidated School District 46 and St. Gilbert School announced late Saturday that their schools would be closed Monday.
