District 46 Schools, St. Gilbert to be Closed Monday

The Community Consolidated School District 46 schools, along with St. Gilbert Catholic School, will be closed on Monday.

Both closings were announced on Facebook Saturday evening.

"Due to the forecast of dangerously cold weather conditions all CCSD 46 schools will be closed on Monday, January 6th, 2014," District 46 officials posted on Facebook.

St. Gilbert officials posted a similar message on Facebook: "SGS will be closed on Monday, January 6. Stay warm!"

Some Grayslake Park District programs have also been canceled. The park district shared this message on Facebook: "All morning recreation programs beginning before 12:00 noon are cancelled for Monday, January 6th due to cold weather conditions. I Love Learning Preschool will be cancelled all day. A decision will be made by 11:00am for all afternoon and evening programs. All Youth Basketball & Travel Basketball Games/Practices have been cancelled. Please check back for future updates."

Sub-zero temperatures have been forecast for Monday, with an anticipated temperature of just -10 in Grayslake.
