District 46 Seeks Sixth New Business Manager

The District 46 Board of Education is looking to hire its sixth business manager after failing to renew the contract of Chief School Business Official Anna Kasprzyk, reports the Daily Herald.

Since 2010, District 46 has had five business managers. Now the district is searching for the sixth to replace Anna Kasprzyk, whose contact ends June 30, reports the Daily Herald.

Last month, the school board chose not to reappoint Kasprzyk, but shared no reasons with the public.

Kasprzyk was the district's fifth business manager

After Brad Goldstein resigned to take another position, he was replaced by Edward Towle in April 2010. Towle was fired a month later after it was discovered he failed to disclose he was on administrative leave from his former position with the Deer Brown school district in Milwaukee, reported Patch.

Towle filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the district. A settlement was reached in Jan. 2012, reported Patch.

The district then hired David Tylavsky, who resigned in March 2011 after eight months for unknown reasons. Todd Covault, who was hired in July to replace Tylavsky, resigned after about two months to accept a similar position in another district. Retired business manager Victor Berner then stepped in to serve as interim business manager after his departure, reported Patch.

School Board President Steven Strack told the Daily Herald said the frequent turnover in this position is a concern, and that an interim business manager will be appointed if no one is hired before Kasprzyk's contract ends.
