Drive One for Your School This Sunday

Test drive a Ford and earn money for your school. That is the idea behind a unique fund-raiser sponsored by Grayslake North High School Athletic Booster Club.

Drive One for UR School will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at north parking lot, 1925 N. Route 83, Grayslake. The cars are provided through Gurnee Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, 18834 W. Grand Avenue, Gurnee.

The goal is to get 300 people to test drive a Ford during the event. One person per household who is 18 years or older must complete some paperwork. Then, each driver can take a 15 minute test drive. For this, the school will earn $20 per test drive, or up to $6,000 total during the four hour event.

They will not be trying to sell the cars because it is Sunday and that is prohibited, organizers said. Participants will drive and/or ride in groups of four, so group of friends can sign up in the same time slot. Drivers and riders must be 18 years old and only one person per household will be allowed to drive.
