Open House for Prospective Families at Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School

Grayslake, IL:  The Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School (GCNS) will be holding an Open House for prospective families on Saturday August 6, and again on Wednesday, August 10, from 10 A.M. – 12 P.M.

Families are invited to tour the school, meet staff members, and talk with alumni families. The oldest cooperative nursery school in the area, GCNS offers a variety of two-day, three-day and five-day options for children between the ages of 2 and 5. The 2011-2012 school year marks the school’s 36th year in the community. GCNS is located on Route 137 at The Shops of Prairie Crossing in Grayslake.

Families who enroll at the open house will receive 10% off first month's tuition!

As GCNS Director Meredith Price notes, “GCNS is proud to have expanded our program to include such options as Enrichment class for 4 and 5 year-olds! This provides an excellent opportunity to extend early math and literacy learning through more hands-on activities. It also offers a five-day a week option in some cases which helps prepare children for the longer school day when they begin Kindergarten. We look forward to seeing many families at the Open Houses.”

Registration will be accepted on-site at the Open Houses. Information on class schedules and registration may also be found on our website at www.grayslake-coop.com or by calling 847-223-9820.

GCNS welcomes families from Grayslake, Hainesville, Round Lake, Gurnee, Mundelein, Libertyville and surrounding areas. The preschool has been providing area children with a quality preschool experience for more than thirty years since its founding in 1976 by a group of local mothers looking for an enriching and nurturing preschool.

Classes are taught by certified teachers, but as a cooperative, parents and staff work together to provide children with a positive school experience. As educational research consistently demonstrates, parental involvement in schools is an essential element in childhood success in school—and the Grayslake Cooperative takes that message to heart as parents and educators are dedicated to developing children academically, emotionally, socially and physically in a nurturing, family-focused environment.
