Grayslake D127 Receives High Honors from IASB

The Grayslake District 127 Board of Education is one of seven school boards in the state to be recognized by the Illinois Association of School Boards for its standard of governance.

Grayslake Community High School District 127 is pleased to announce that the D127 Board of Education has been recognized by the Illinois Association of School Boards with the 2012 School Board Governance Recognition designation.

The D127 Board of Education is one of seven school boards in the state, and one of three School Boards in Lake County to receive this designation. This recognition is designed to acknowledge those school boards that have engaged in activities and modeled behaviors that lead to excellence in local school governance in support of quality public education. 

In addition, individual board members Edwin Brown, Russ Chamberlin, Jon Cokefair, Ann Dingman, Tom Halloran, and Suzanne Swanson received recognition for their service and participation in various IASB activities within and beyond our district.

Awards at several different levels were presented to all, with Ann Dingman and Jon Cokefair receiving Master School Board Member recognition, the highest honor.

This recognition was formally presented to the D127 Board of Education at the Lake Fall Division Dinner Meeting Oct. 10 at North Shore School District 112 in Highland Park.
