Grayslake North Girls Basketball Wins Division Over Grayslake Central

North won Tuesday night's game 61-45.

Grayslake North High School's Girls Basketball team is celebrating its division win over Grayslake Central.

The Knights faced off agains the Rams Tuesday night, with the Knights winning 61-45, said Nate Flannery, head girls basketball coach for Grayslake North.

"We were able to come out and shoot the basketball very well in the first half, going 6-12 from the 3-point line and gain a 17-point advantage going into the second half," said Flannery. "I thought our defense did a nice job of creating the tempo we wanted to play at and got us going in transition."

Brittney Thibeaux was the high scorer, with 13 points, followed closely by Kendall Detweiler and Emily Dugan with 12 points apiece. Joanna Guhl, Emily Stinner and Jordyn Bowen scored 10, 9 and 5 points respectively, Flannery said.

"Grayslake Central has a great program. It was a great high school basketball game with a great crowd," said Flannery. "It was nice to see so many people from the community on both sirs of town come out for the contest; it created a great atmosphere."

Grayslake North is now set to play at Cary-Grove High School on Friday in the Fox Valley Conference Championship Game, according to the Lake County News-Sun.
