Grayslake Park Dist. To Hold Youth Basketball Tryouts

The Grayslake Park District is hosting a traveling basketball league for boys and girls in fifth through eighth-grade.

Fifth though eighth-grade boys and girls residing in District 127 are invited to try out for the Grayslake Park District's traveling basketball teams.

Teams are selected through tryouts and play at a more competitive level.  A solid commitment to practice and game schedules is necessary from both parents and players.

The cost for the season is $400, plus a $100 uniform fee. Tryouts are a two day process. First and second tryouts at Grayslake Central High School will be held at various times Sept 15 and 23. Tryouts at Grayslake North High School will be held at various times Sept. 23 and 29.

Participants should attend both tryout dates. Parents must accompany players at the first day in order to complete paperwork. There is a $20 tryout fee for those who register before Sept. 14. After Sept. 14 the fee is $30.  Parents are not allowed in the gym during tryouts.

All players must live within the Dist. 127 boundaries to tryout and must tryout for the team which corresponds to the high school campus they will attend, per those boundaries. Please note, at the travel level, playing time is not guaranteed.

Due to low numbers in the past for fifth grade, the Grayslake Park District will allow any talented fourth-graders to tryout for the fifth-grade team.
