Grayslake Resident Elected to Higher Education Organization

Sue Morris, of Grayslake, has been elected an executive officer of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact, which aids universities and community colleges, including CLC, in 12 states.

Grayslake resident Sue Morris was recently elected one of three executive officers of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact at the Compact's annual meeting and policy summit held in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Morris was elected treasurer of this 12 state organization, which for more than 20 years has coordinated purchasing, research and educational exchanges between universities and community colleges to maximize taxpayer funds.

Morris is one of the Illinois delegates to the Compact. She is vice-chair of the Illinois Community College Board, which oversees the community colleges in Illinois, including the College of Lake County.

One of the key goals of the Compact, said Morris, is to promote and develop best practices within the 12 states to ensure affordable higher education to both students and taxpayers.

Morris said she is proud of this opportunity to further advocate for affordable education within the Midwest.
