Parents Must Provide Proof Of Residency To D127

Grayslake North has new dates in July for families to provide proof of residency; Grayslake Central has dates in June. In addition, online student registrations are due by June 24.

Although summer is far from over, Grayslake North and Central have already begun preparing families and students for the coming fall.

To register students for either high school, parents must provide proof of residency.

Denise Kindle, assistant superintendent for personnel services, said residency events “are designed to verify whether students are residents of the district." She said families received the required information in a mailing at the beginning of the month.

Families are required to bring in three proofs of residency, and incoming freshmen also need their birth certificate, she said.

During this time students will also receive their class schedules, locker assignments, student IDs, purchase gym uniforms, pay fees and return any other necessary paperwork in preparation for the 2011-2012 school year.

Grayslake North’s walk-in registration and residency check dates have been rescheduled to 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. July 18 through July 21.

Each grade level has a different assigned day. Those who will be freshman are to report on July 18, sophomores on July 19, juniors on July 20 and seniors on July 21.

Grayslake Central’s next residency event for freshman, sophomores and juniors is from noon – 7:30 p.m. June 20.

Four building level administrators, the guidance department chair and school's registrar will be on hand to verify residency during the event.

“We also utilize support staff to help the event run smoothly,” Kindle said.

Registration for all grade levels at both schools is online and is due by June 24. Kindle said that late fees will be issued after the deadline. Someone will be available at Grayslake Central June 22 and 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. to help families register, if needed.
