Prairie Crossing Charter School Accepting Registration Forms for 2014-15 School Year

If you are a resident of Woodland District 50 or Fremont District 79, your child is eligible to attend Prairie Crossing Charter School.

A free, public school, Prairie Crossing Charter School (PCCS) is currently accepting registration forms for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year.

PCCS is a free, public charter school, with a mission focused on the environment. PCCS serves students in Kindergarten through eighth grade, with a maximum school size of 432 students and an average of 46 students in each grade. Prairie Crossing Charter School has been recognized annually for its academic excellence. In 2012, PCCS was presented with the National Green Ribbon Schools award by the U.S. Department of Education for environmental stewardship. Most recently, PCCS was honored again in 2013 as a National Blue Ribbon Schools Award recipient for academic achievement. 

For those interested in learning more about Prairie Crossing Charter School, open houses will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 and Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Comstock Building of the school. Registration packets are available at the school or can be printed from the school’s website (www.prairiecrossingcharterschool.org).

Completed registration materials can be mailed or dropped off in the school office during school hours (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) at 1531 Jones Point Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. They must be received at the school by Feb. 28, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. A public lottery will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Comstock Building of the school. 

Prairie Crossing Charter School is a free, public charter school with a curriculum centered on the environment. Any student enrolled in the Fremont or Woodland School district is eligible for admission. Admission to Prairie Crossing Charter School is on a non-discriminatory basis with respect to race, ethnicity, and religious preference. Prairie Crossing Charter School provides a full complement of services for students with disabilities, students with Limited English Proficiency, and supports the transportation needs of all its students. Instructional fee waivers are available for families whose income level qualifies based upon federal standards provided by the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
