Snow Cancels School Events

Both District 127 in Grayslake and Woodland District 50 in Gurnee have canceled or rescheduled all activities from tonight

As the snow today continues to fall, schools are taking extra precautions to not have students or parents out in the weather.

has canceled all activities and athletic events for Thursday, January 12. The Lake County High School Tech Campus Open House scheduled for this evening has also been cancelled.

All after school and evening activities have also been canceled for elementary schools on Thursday.

Due to the winter storm warning that is currently active for our area, has cancelled all evening activities for tonight. Unfortunately, this includes the Woodland Middle School Winter Concerts.

"While it does not appear too bad right now, the forecast is such that the decision was made to err on the side of caution and safety for our students and those traveling to school for the concert," said Jen Bova of District 50 in a statement. The concerts have been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 17. All times pertaining to the concerts will remain the same.

In addition, all Warren Township High School evening events have been cancelled for Thursday, Jan. 12. This includes the freshman orientation and registration that was scheduled for this evening. It has been rescheduled for Wednesday, January 18. For more information, contact Warren Township High School.
