Whiz Kids: Students Win at Regional History Fair

Students/School:

Erin Chatten, Keny Ponce and Matthew Teubert - Grayslake North students and Nikki McGill and Rabia Tayyabia - Grayslake Central students

Accomplishment:

Earned high honors at the Chicago Metro History Fair Regional Competition on Saturday, Feb. 27. The students' projects will advance to the next level of Chicago Metro History Fair on April 9 at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Key to Success:

The students showcased their research on local topics such as the history of the YMCA, the development of the atomic bomb at the University of Chicago, and the theater education at the Hull House. The junior students have spent the last four months researching and developing their projects as a part of their U.S. History classes.
