A Softball Battle: Moms vs. Daughters

The Grayslake Pride 14U Green team takes on their moms for the third annual competition.

It wasn't just cheering from the stands for a dozen moms of the Grayslake Pride 14U Green travel softball team. They geared up and stepped up to the plate for the third annual Mother-Daughter Game at Central Park in Grayslake.

Moms hit the field coached by Jim Marshall, while the girls had to fend for themsevels in what was called a lively and heavily disputed seven innings. In the end, both teams claimed victory. It seemed Coach Ed Phillips who acted as umpire had a hard time calling a winner.

The Grayslake Pride Travel Softball program is a competitive fastpitch softball organization for girls from ages eight through 16.  The program is run by the Grayslake Park District.  The program is open to girls whether or not they live in Grayslake.
