Making Strides for Special Kids

An event like no other, the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL) Foundation will host their first annual "Making Strides for Special Kids" 5K/10K Run & Family Walk on September 17.

The event aims to raise awareness and funds for the enrichment in educational, vocational, and social opportunities for over 2,600 physically and mentally disabled children throughout Lake County.

Runners and walkers of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate in this amazing experience and the Foundation is working closely with the following organizations to ensure a fantastic day of making strides:

The event will also be B-Tag timed and is USATF Certified.

In a truly unique way, the Foundation is including a capable/handicapable event where capable runners and walkers from The Fitness Pursuit pair up with handicapable runners, walkers, or wheelchair participants to experience a race - many for the first time.
