GNHS Alum Carly Borders Honored for Collegiate Softball Skills

The University of Findlay's softball player Carly Borders was named offensive player of the week in her conference.

Carly Borders, a Grayslake North High School alum, was honored for her collegiate softball skills. The University of Findlay announced that Borders was recognized April 22 as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Borders led the Oilers to a perfect 8-0 record last week by hitting .454. She drove in 13 runs during the week and scored 12 more. She also hit three home runs, recorded three triples and walked five times. 

The Lake Villa native is hitting .347 on the season with eight home runs and 33 runs batted in. She also leads the conference with 23 walks.
