Grayslake North Softball Defeats Richmond-Burton

The Knights win 6-1 Wednesday night to advance to the sectional title game.

The Grayslake North Knights softball team continued to win on Wednesday. Grayslake North advanced to the sectional title game at Lakes by stopping Richmond-Burton 6-1.

According to the Lake County News-Sun, Kristi Gandy pitched a five-hitter, got three hits and drove in three runs.

This will be the Knights’ second straight appearance in the sectional finals. Last year, they were thumped 7-0 by powerful Marengo, the News-Sun said.

This year, they won’t have to play Marengo until the Round of 8 — next Monday. On Saturday, North will likely play a quality Prairie Ridge squad for the sectional title.

Gandy fanned 11 and the hard-hitting Knights pounded out 13 hits while being helped by four Richmond errors, according to the article.
