Grayslake Runners Finish Chicago Marathon

Three Grayslake residents finished in top 2,000 out of 37,454 runners.

Three Grayslake runners were among the top 2,000 finishers in the Oct. 7 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Fifty-three out of 71 Grayslake residents finished the race, according to the official marathon website.

The marathon took runners through a 26-mile, 385 yard-course through downtown Chicago and the city’s neighborhoods.

John Kiser, 51, of Grayslake, came in 1,352nd place with a time of 3:07.49. Kiser finished 59th in his age group.

Dale Steiner, 44, of Grayslake, came in 1,531st place with a time of 03:09.31. Steiner finished 185th in his age group.

Laura Surowiec, 29, of Grayslake, came in 1,566th place with a time of 03:09.45. Surowiec finished 48th in her age group.
