GYBA Pancake Breakfast On Feb. 11

Registrations for the Grayslake Youth Baseball League are available online or in-person at the Pancake Breakfast.

It's not too early to start thinking about baseball as registration is now open for the Grayslake Youth Baseball Association. Sign-ups are accepted at www.gybaonline.org until February 11 or during the annual Pancake Breakfast.

The league is still seeking more volunteer managers and coaches. People who are interested can sign up on the Registration Page on GYBA's website.

Families who have registered but not paid need to do so by Feb. 12 to avoid a $50 late fee. League officials are ready to get the season started.

The annual GYBA Pancake Breakfast, a large fundraiser for the organization, will be held from 7-11 a.m. Feb. 11 at the downtown Grayslake Fire Station #1. Players eat for free.

"We look forward to seeing everyone at the Pancake Breakfast," said Michael Dean, GYBA president of baseball. "This is a chance for the community to come out and support our youth baseball league. There will be great food, raffles, and the last opportunity to register for the season. We get great support from the fire station and our sponsors to help support the event. It should be a lot of fun!"

League History

"GYBA is going into its 11th year of existence," said Toth. "We serve 600 to 700 in-house and travel players who reside in the Grayslake Central and North High School boundaries."

Toth said the goal is to give kids instruction in more than just baseball.

"GYBA provides children with the training and knowledge of how to play America’s pastime, while developing valuable life-long skills such as teamwork, commitment and dedication," he said. "We are excited for the opportunity to work with the Grayslake children for the upcoming season."
