New Location Proposed for Grayslake Sports Dome

A proposal for an air-supported sports dome in Grayslake isn't going away. The Belcher brothers now want to construct it near the new Lake County Fairgrounds.

A new site has been proposed for a sports dome in Grayslake as Power Alleys Sports Dome filed an application with the village requesting to build the facility east of Midlothian Road and north of Peterson Road, according to the Daily Herald

The Belcher brothers' proposal first became public in June. Plans called for a 180,0000-square-foot, air-supported sports dome to be located on 10 acres on the south side of Washington Street next to the College of Lake County, which is now buying the land for its own expansion needs, reported Patch.

The Power Alleys Sports Dome would focus mainly on baseball and softball but the dome would also have a restaurant, bar and fitness facility, according to the Daily Herald
