The community is invited to several special events including summer movies and a luau at the Grayslake church.
is combining movies with worship. Throughout the summer select movies will be shown, then Senior Pastor David Russell will discuss how the film relates to the contemporary Christian Life.
The movie schedule is for the Sunday 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. worship services and are as follows:
- July 15: Soul Surfer. “Aloha ... the Spirit of Persistent Love” is the theme, and this movie reminds us that God loves us without fail and we can learn to persist through tough times as long as we bring God with us.
- July 22: Hotel Rwanda. “There Was No One Left to Speak Up” is this film’s lesson, and God wants us to stand up for the oppressed.
- Aug. 19: We Bought a Zoo. “All You Need Is Twenty Seconds of Courage.” Here we learn that starting over is essential for life and is possible with Christ.
- Aug. 26: How to Train Your Dragon. “Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover.” Things and people are not always what they seem.
The 10:30 a.m. Worship Service in Fellowship Hall includes children’s time and nursery care. Church School for 3-year-olds through first grade runs through August.
