The Soldier
Every once in a while people are truly awesome.
On the train today I watched a soldier, with all the patience in the world, describe what he does in the Army to a special needs little boy. He talked about protecting our nation from bad people and all the areas of the military he loves most. The boy had so many questions that his mom tried to get the soldier off the hook several times. The man just kept saying, “It’s ok, no worries.”
At the end of the ride the little guy said, “Thanks for serving.” The soldier said, ”It is my pleasure sir.” Proud moment for this commuter.
