Things To Do This Weekend In Lake County

Top 5 Weekend Activities for February 15th-17th In Lake County.

  1. Let’s Wine About Winter! From 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. Purchase a wine glass at a distribution site and then spend a leisurely afternoon browsing the shops of downtown Libertyville while sampling wines offered by participating merchants. Downtown Libertyville.
  2. ArtWauk. 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16. Come out for an evening of art, live entertainment and more. Be part of the opening reception of John Wylie’s digital photography display at the Waukegan Library. Admission is free. Downtown Waukegan.
  3. Children's Craft Activity: Sailor Valentines. From 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, The Great Lakes Naval Museum will be hosting a free activity for children. Sailor Valentines were decorated shell-encrusted boxes brought home from a voyage by sailors for their loved ones during the 1800s. Children will learn about the history of these objects while making their own sailor valentine. All craft supplies will be provided. Great Lakes Naval Museum, 610 Farragut Ave., Building 42, Great Lakes.
  4. Local Bands Performing Live Music at Aloha Falls. Doors open at 7 p.m. on both Friday, Feb. 15 and Saturday, Feb. 16. Friday night come out to see AOK, Says the Man Who Says and The Ska-lers. Support local music Saturday night with performances by Belmont Cross, Another Black Hour and Open Hole Soul. These are all ages shows and tickets are $8 at the door. Aloha Falls, 1800 N US Highway 45, Libertyville.
  5. Cars and Quinceaneras at the Clockwise Theatre. At 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 and Saturday Feb. 16 followed by a final performance at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17. Cars and Quinceaneras is a live theatrical show about a Mexican-American family who find out that their teenage son is going to be a father. Tickets are $20 and are only available online or by phone at (847) 775-1500. Clockwise Theatre, 21 N. Genesee St., Waukegan.
