Things To Do This Weekend In Lake County

1.) Classic Car Nite.  Saturday, May 25, 2013, 6 p.m. - 10 p.m., The Classic Car season is starting up at Miller’s Dog N Suds Drive In.  Grab some lawn chairs and bring the kids to hear your favorite songs from the 50s, 60s and beyond from Scottie Hicks 39 & Holding DJ Extraordinaire.  Dash Plaques will also be awarded to the first 100 Classic Cars made before 1973.  Miller’s Dog N Suds Drive In, 517 Washington St., Ingleside.

2.) 48th Annual Antique Car Club of America Car Show and Car Corral.  Sunday, May 26, 2013, 9 a.m., The AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) will team up with the Volo Auto Museum to kick off their summer season.  More than “just cars”, Volo’s park offers the perfect location for anyone looking for some fun in the sun.  Come look at the cars, bring one to sell, or even buy a one!  Volo Auto Museum, 27582 Volo Village Road, Volo.

3.) Annual Barrington Art Festival. Saturday May, 25 – Sunday May, 26.  Amdur Productions hosts this annual festival featuring 130 juried artists and live music.  Add to your personal collection by picking up some jewelry, ceramics, glass, photography, paintings, metal, or wood work from around the world.  Village Center, Cook & Station Street, Barrington.

4.) Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags Great America Opens Saturday May 25.  Offering free entrance with purchase of a Six Flags ticket, Hurricane Harbor boasts sixteen water rides, cabana rentals and one of the country’s largest wave pools. 1 Great America Pkwy, Gurnee. 

5.) Memorial Day Celebrations.  Lake County will host many Memorial Day celebrations honoring our veterans and service members.  Be sure to check out VisitLakeCounty.org to get start times for your local Memorial Day parades and festivities.
