Things To Do This Weekend In Lake County

Weekend activities for April 26 - 28, 2013 in Lake County, IL

1. Extreme Block Party. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. Bring the family out for a day of fun at the Libertyville Sports Complex. There will be over 100 local vendors, live entertainment, raffle prizes, a live reptile show, face painting and so much more! Libertyville Sports Complex, 1950 N. Highway 45, Libertyville.

2. 15th Annual Fear No Art Festival. Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., The 15th Annual Fear No Art Festival showcases a variety of arts including dance, music, poetry and visual. Works are created by students, community members and faculty of the College of Lake County. James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 Washington St., Grayslake. 

3. Earth Day & Family Kite Fly. 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, Celebrate Earth Day at Slove Park in Lindenhurst. Begin the day with the free Fun Run 5k, and then enjoy Native Tree and energy presentations, exhibitor booths, raffles, games and children’s crafts. End the day with the 9th Annual Statewide Kite Fly. Slove Park, 2301 Sand Lake Rd, Lindenhurst

4. Kid’s Challenge Weekend at Bass Pro Shops. Saturday, April 27 - Sunday, April 28 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., Bass Pro Shops located at Gurnee Mills Mall is hosting a Kid’s Challenge Weekend. Kids will learn how to tie different knots in the knot tying challenge, participate in a backpack challenge or test their archery skills in the outdoor archery range. 5. Abraham Lincoln: Self-Made in America Exhibit. Now through Sunday, June 16, The Grayslake Heritage Center is the final stop in the nation to host this traveling exhibit about Abraham Lincoln. Featuring reproductions of famous Lincoln possessions, including his surveying instruments and the gloves he wore the night he was assassinated. Grayslake Heritage Center, 164 Hawley St., Grayslake.
