Visit Lake County Selects Top 3 Photos from the Community

Visit Lake County received 104 photos during the duration of the photo contest ranging from beauty shots to festivals and fireworks photos.

Visit Lake County, the area’s official destination marketing organization, recently completed a photo contest on its website, VisitLakeCounty.org.  Visit Lake County received 104 photos during the duration of the contest ranging from natural beauty shots to Six Flags Great America, golfing, family time at Independence Grove and festivals and fireworks photos.  

“We were impressed with the quality of the photos we received. Lake County has many talented photographers,” said Visit Lake County Marketing Manager, Anthony Haag. “We looked for photos that really showcased the area’s beauty and people enjoying the ride in Lake County. The top 3 photos did a great job of conveying this.”

The grand prize winner is Mike Trahan for his photo “Son and granddaughter sailing on Sylvan Lake”. “I thought that photo captured the joy of Lake County,” he said.

The second prize winner was Alex Chen for his “Fishing at Dawn at Independence Grove” photo. The third prize winner was Dick Schneider for his “Out for a walk on the Des Plaines River bike trail just north of Independence Grove” photo.
