With the 4th of July right around the corner, Lake County is celebrating Independence Day with a variety of patriotic festivals and events for the whole family!

With the 4th of July right around the corner, Lake County is celebrating Independence Day with a variety of patriotic festivals and events for the whole family.

The Grayslake Family Picnic Day & Fireworks is this Saturday at Central Park in Grayslake from 3-10 p.m. Come hungry to enjoy the “Taste of Grayslake” along with a live musical performance. There will be a moonwalk, rides, face painting, obstacle course, climbing wall and much more. Plenty of fun activities to keep everyone happy. Fireworks at dusk. Rides and activities close at 8 p.m.

Mundelin Community Days began Thursday and continues all weekend long. Events include a carnival, the Mundelein Munch, games, contests, live musical entertainment, arts and crafts, pet parade, bingo, a car show and much more. The parade will be held at 2 p.m. July 1 down Hawley Street from Village Hall to the High School.

The 15th Annual Lincolnshire Art Festival will take place this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.  The art festival will feature 50 juried artists set up along the grounds of Lincolnshire's Village Green dining and shopping area. The free festival will surround a serene fountain and at the festival center is a beautiful sculpture garden, bordered by pleasant walking paths and benches.

Spend Sunday evening at Mitchell Park in Deerfield for the Summer Sampler Featuring the R&B band Chicago Cover Story. Bring the family, friends, a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a free evening of great music from 5-6:30 p.m. They are a four-piece classic dance rock band covering 5 decades of music.

Bring the whole family out for a day of fun at the Jelly Belly Visitor Center for the Annual Jelly Belly Summer Fest. There will be carnival rides, a magician, balloon arts and face painting. Also come into the store and save with the Belly Flop sale. The Summer Fest began Thursday and goes through Sunday.
