Come Hungry to the Grayslake Lions Club Steer Roast on Sept. 11

members and friends will be serving the club's from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 at Grayslake Middle School, 440 N. Barron Blvd. (Route 83) between Washington and Center streets, Grayslake.

The menu fare will include freshly spit-roasted beef, freshly picked tomatoes, onions and corn on the cob, baked potatoes, rolls, pies and other desserts. Coffee, tea and milk is included along with plenty of butter for the rolls and fresh corn on the cob. It's an all-you-can eat offer.

"We look forward to feeding the community," said Grayslake Lions Club member Gayle Cinke.

All the proceeds from the annual fundraiser stay in the community and are used for the club's sight conservation and blind services activities, community assistance programs and hearing impaired and speech activities.

A free hearing screening will be available.

Tickets at the door are $12 for adults ages 12 through 61; and $11 for senior citizens ages 62 and older. Advance tickets, available from any Lions Club member, are $10 for adults and $9 for senior citizens. Cost for children ages 5 through 11 is $6. Children under 5 years old will be admitted free.

Soft drinks will be available for separate purchase. Raffle tickets will also be available.

Carry outs of the complete menu will be available.

Roasting of the beef will begin late Saturday afternoon on a spit over a charcoal fire outside the school.
