Fundraiser in Grayslake Raises More than $80,000 for Fellowship Housing

The fundraiser was held at Stonewall Orchard Golf Course in Grayslake.

On Thursday, Sept. 5, local golfers showed their support of Fellowship Housing by participating in the Annual Golf Outing. With 100 golfers in attendance, over $80,000 was raised to help homeless and at-risk single mothers and their children.

A beautiful day on the Stonewall Orchard Golf Course in Grayslake, golfers enjoyed participating in competitive games, such as Beat the Pro and trying for a Hole-in-One to win a 2014 Mercedes from Motor Werks of Barrington.

After the golf games concluded, guests heard from a mom in the program about how her life is forever changed.

“With the many programs and resources they offer, I have paid off over $10,000 in debt and I am currently in the process of buying a home through Habitat for Humanity. Fellowship Housing is a financial blessing to all the moms chosen to be in the program. However they are so much more than that. They have helped me out emotionally and also spiritually. Before FH just 18 short months ago, I felt lost, alone, defeated and at a dead end drowning in failure. The wonderful people at FH and every one of you that support us really do have a passion for the moms and their children. There is a genuine care and concern about us and our future. Fellowship Housing is not just a resource to me, it has extended my family,” shared Cody.

The event was sponsored by many local businesses including the Rolfs Family, Finch and Barry Properties, and the Jandris Family. A complete list of our generous sponsors is listed on the Fellowship Housing website. Volunteers came from local companies, such as Amcol International, Orsini Healthcare, and TransNational Bankcard, to support the cause.
