Mandy Has A Lot Of Love To Give

Looking for a new pet? Check out Mandy and the other dogs and cats at Save-A-Pet Shelter in Grayslake.

A plush squeaky toy immediately got my attention and I quickly picked it up, proudly showing it off and then dropped it off, more interested in getting some petting.

I originally came from a rural shelter and when I got to meet one of the cats there, I was very casual even when he hissed and swatted at me. I know sit, especially if there is a little reward.

I am a very affectionate dog that quickly tries to get your attention and doesn’t even mind getting hugged. I was quickly adopted and they brought me back after a few years because they no longer had the time for me and they were also in the process of “merging” two families and felt that I was not good with cats.

Since my return to Save-A-Pet, it was also discovered that I needed surgery for a torn ACL so I moved to a foster home, got my surgery and am almost completely done recuperating. My foster mom reports that I am a great dog.

I don’t care too much for her large dogs but seem okay with the little one. As I do have a lot of love to give, I would probably be the happiest as your only dog. She says that I am quiet and gentle and not a barker. I listen well and even let her know if I need to go out before the scheduled time. When she comes back home, I always do my happy wiggle dance.

I really don’t want to go back to Save-A-Pet so if you want a super affectionate and loving dog, please consider me. My foster home would also be more than happy to bring me in to meet potential adopters.

From Save-A-Pet: Mandy is about 8 years old, spayed, and is up-to-date on her routine shots, is heartworm negative and is on preventative medicines and microchipped. As she is currently in a foster home, please call 847-740-7788, et. 101 or email adoptions@saveapetil.org Of course, don’t forget all her friends atwww.saveapetil.org, all waiting to meet their new families.
