New Website Makes Donating Extra Items Easier

Grayslake residents have an opportunity to streamline getting rid of old items while local charities can connect easier with givers.

Do you have any extra items in your home that you haven't used in a while, but have no idea what to do with them? Zealous Good is a new website that is making your life easier and the donating process more impactful.

Instead of dropping off your extra items at a thrift store or Goodwill, you can donate items directly to charities' that have made requests.

"Our main goal is to connect people and small businesses to local charities," said Megan Breehl, an expansion lead representative for Zealous Good.

Currently the group Praying Single Mothers NFP of Grayslake is signed up with the website to receive items. Tell other charities you love or are involved with to create a profile on ZealousGood.com to receive the items they are in need of.

The site's founder, Brittany Martin Graunke, wanted to find an easier way for charities to connect with donors and allow donors to donate without necessarily giving money all the time.

For the past year Zealous Good has worked with more than 100 charities in Chicago and has matched more than $200,000 in donated items.

ZealousGood is expanding to the North, South and Western suburbs and help areas like Grayslake get more involved with their local charities.
