Rescued By Animal Control, Tippy Now Needs a New Home

This little Schipperke lost her best friend in the world and now really needs a new family.

I write this with the heaviest of my tiny heart. My name is Tippy Paws but you can call me Blackie. My best friend Dusty Paws and I came to in 2008 after being rescued from a hoarder by McHenry Animal Control. We were a bonded pair and thankfully Save-A-Pet kept us together.

Dusty Paws, or Whitey, was a bit more shy than me. She was also deaf so I did most of the leading.

The day came when my best friend had to leave me. There is so much we lived through together, so many dreams of a forever home together. Through thick and thin and through our illnesses, we were together.

Now we are no longer together. Losing my best friend is very painful. I need more than ever to find my forever home so I can relax and try to grieve with the help of a new family. I know my Save-A-Pet family is here for me through thick and thin, just like Dusty was, but I feel like I need a fresh start.

See, I was diagnosed with Transitional Cell Carcinoma, a cancer of the bladder/urethra, about one year ago. I have already surpassed the doctor's expectations. Since the cancer is in my bladder lining, I urinate quite frequently and will probably have accidents in the house. But since I am quite small, my "accidents" are also small, and can be managed with a canine diaper or pee-pads. I am currently on oral medications, which I take VERY WELL with food.

I am active and have been told I have a big personality in a small package, along with a big snaggle tooth. I can be selective with other dogs, so it is best for any potential playmates to come and meet me. I tend to also do well with cats. What more can I say? I lost my best friend in the world. Though I am not alone, I feel alone. The best thing for me now is the comfort of a warm and loving foster home.

Please help me heal from the loss of my girl Dusty and help me spend my golden years in the home I have always deserved. If interested, contact a Save-A-Pet Adoption Counselor at foster@saveapetil.org or (847) 740-7788, ext. 101.
