About Grand Appliance and TV:

Grand Appliance and TV started in 1930 as a retailer of electrical supplies, light fixtures and appliances under the name Service Electric. Over the next several years, appliances became the company's sole focus. In 1966, the company moved to a larger, more visible location on Grand Avenue in Waukegan. To signify the move and change in focus and location, second-generation owner, Fred Reckling, changed the company's name to Grand Appliance.

The store in Waukegan remained Grand's only location until 1992 when it opened a second location in Kenosha, WI. More locations would follow throughout Chicagoland and southern Wisconsin. In addition to opening more stores, Grand also expanded its product assortment by adding bedding, TV and home audio departments. Through this expansion, Grand can now truly provide solutions for every room of the home. Although much has changed since 1930, a few things remain the same. The company is still family owned and operated. Third generation owner, Mark Reckling leads the way with several fourth generation family members employed within the company as well.
