Volunteer Opportunities at Grayslake Library

Got some extra time this summer? Consider sharing your love for reading and the Grayslake Library by volunteering.

The Grayslake Area Public Library has volunteer opportunities for youth and adults.

Friends of the Library Meeting, 7 p.m. June 13
Come to the meeting and learn how this dedicated group of volunteers takes donated used books and turns them into funding for programs such as the Summer and Winter Concert Series, LEGO Robotics and the Friday Night Film Series.

Book sales are held twice a year and in addition to raising funds, provide the public with the opportunity to purchase quality books at a very low cost. Many hands are needed to make these a success and new volunteers are welcome. Come enjoy good company and making a difference in your community.

Helping Hands and Book Buddies Summer 2013
Do you enjoy helping out? Do you have service hours to fill? The library is in need of a few helping hands to help with crafts, programs, and keeping the rooms and books tidy during the summer.

There are also opportunities for kids who want to share their love of reading and buddy-up with younger children to read stories aloud. Both Helping Hands and Book Buddies are open to kids who have completed fifth through eighth grade and hold a Grayslake Library card.

Registration forms are available now until openings are filled. Space is limited. For more information contact the Youth Services Desk.
