Snow, Colder Temperatures Expected This Week

Here's a look at the forecast for Nov. 11-17.

Get ready for a blast of winter this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, a strong cold front is set to move through the midwest on Monday, ushering in much cooler temperatures and even some snowflakes. 

The forecast temperatures for Tuesday could be so low that they may mark the "coldest early-November temperatures since 1996," according to the National Weather Service.

After a weekend that saw temperatures reach into the 50s, Monday's forecast high is 43 degrees—and that's at 8 a.m. The temperature is then forecast to fall to 29 for the rest of the day, with a low of 23 Monday night. Monday may also see some snow, though the forecast calls for less than an inch of accumulation, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday's forecast high is just 32 degrees.

  • Wednesday: Sunny, 36
  • Thursday: Sunny, 43
  • Friday: Cloudy, 46
  • Saturday: Partly sunny, 51
  • Sunday: Cloudy, 55
