Banned Books Week

Sept. 22-28 is Banned Books Week. According to the Grayslake Area Public Library, Banned Books Week started in 1982 and since then, more than 11,300 books have been challenged. Some of those titles have included Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. Teens and adults at the Grayslake Library who read or listen to a book from the library's banned book display this week will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift certificate to one of several businesses. For more information, visit the library website.
