Matt's Mile, Clothing Sale and Fright Fest This Weekend

What are your plans for the weekend?

Are you looking for something to do this weekend?

Here's a look at some events you could check out:

Clothing Sale

Prairie Crossing Charter School will hold a Clothing Sale & Textile Drive Oct 3-5 in the school gymnasium, 1531 Jones Point Road, Grayslake. The school collected new and gently-used clothes for men, women and children, along with bedding, linens, shoes, and boots. The sale will be held from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 3, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5. The sale will serve as a fundraiser.

Matt's Mile

The Twelve Oaks Foundation will hold its annual Matt's Mile and 5K Oct. 4.
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a 1-mile kids run and a 5K run/walk at Prairie Crossing. The event will also feature dinner, a deejay, raffle and awards. The event's namesake, Matt Hupp, was a seventh-grader at St. Gilbert School in Grayslake when he was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma in 2009. He ultimately lost his battle with the disease. Matt's parents, Steve and Julie, created the Twelve Oaks Foundation in his memory. Click here for more information about the event.

Fright Fest

Six Flags Great America's Fright Fest continues this weekend, featuring themed areas, costumed characters and special shows. The hours for Fright Fest are Fridays from 5-11 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Click here for more information.
