Zagat: Italian Beef is Illinois' Signature Sandwich
Who do you think sells the best Italian beef sandwich?
A recent Zagat story on the top sandwich in each of the 50 states listed Illinois' signature sandwich as the Italian beef.
Calling the sandwich "iconic," Zagat writes that the Italian beef "is a representation of the long-lasting meat focus in Chicago."
Zagat also says that Al's Beef has the most authentic Italian beef sandwich.
