Click It or Ticket Stepped Up through Memorial Day

Drivers warned to buckle up or risk getting a ticket as police step up seat belt enforcement through Memorial Day.

The 2013 Click It or Ticket campaign kicked off Friday in Illinois. The purpose of the campaign is to help save lives by cracking down on those who do not buckle up through the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is joining the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Illinois State Police (ISP) and over 500 local law enforcement agencies across the state to save more lives by strongly enforcing seat belt laws. “As we kick-off the busy summer driving season it’s important for everyone to buckle up every trip, every time, day or night – no excuses,” said Sheriff Mark C. Now through New Year's Eve, the Grayslake Police Department will be conducting a holiday crackdown on drunk driving and stepping up seat belt enforcement.

The Grayslake Police Department has announced its plans for the 2012 Holiday “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” crackdown. The intensified enforcement effort to combat late-night impaired driving and safety belt violations underscores the disproportionate number of traffic deaths occurring during late-night hours. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced its plans for the 2012 Holiday “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over/Click It or Ticket” Crackdown. The intensified enforcement effort against drunk drivers and seat belt law violators underscores the disproportionate number of traffic deaths caused by alcohol and failure to buckle up. Grayslake Police: Click It or Ticket

With the holiday seaso upon us, the Grayslake Police Department urges motorists to Click It or Ticket, no matter where you sit.

The Grayslake Police Department, in their continued efforts to promote traffic safety will be participating in the Click It or Ticket Thanksgiving holiday campaign. Click It or Ticket is a two-week campaign focusing on seatbelt use now through Nov. 25. The police department warns that whether you are traveling across town or across the state, if you or anyone in your vehicle is unbelted, you run the risk of getting an unwelcomed gift from law enforcement. As of January 1, 2012, everyone, no matter the age or seating position, is required to wear a safety belt. The Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Traffic Safety (IDOT/DTS) is proud that Illinois has a 93.6 percent safety belt usage rate. However, far too many drivers and …

Crackdown Begins: Buckle Up and Drive Sober

The Grayslake Police Department is stepping up efforts in keeping drivers safe during the late-night hours.

Consider yourself warned. The Grayslake Police Department is stepping up their enforcement of impaired drivers, and drivers who aren't buckled up, with a special emphasis during the late-night hours. The 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign begins Friday and will continue through Labor Day, September 3rd. "I hope the general public heeds this warning," said Sergeant Brian Ernst of the GLPD. According to data from the Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration the midnight to 3:00 a.m. timeframe is the deadliest time on Illinois roads.
