Former Frederick School PTO treasurer Elizabeth Bako, 41, of Grayslake, may avoid going to trial if attorneys on both sides can work out a plea deal involving restitution, reports the Lake County News-Sun. Bako is charged with two counts of felony theft, one for theft of $10,000 to $100,000 and the other for theft of $500 to $10,000. She has also been charged with two counts of unlawful purchase with a credit or debit card, according to the Lake County Circuit Clerk's Office. The incidents allegedly occurred between April 2011 and May 2012 while Bako was serving as treasurer of the Frederick School PTO. The Grayslake resident pleaded not guilty at an arraignment hearing Dec. 5. Bako is due back in court May 29, according to the News-Sun. …

Former Frederick School PTO treasurer Elizabeth Bako, 40, of Woodland Drive, Grayslake, was indicted for theft Wednesday, according to a Lake County News-Sun report. She is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 5. Bako is charged with two counts of felony theft. One count is for theft of $10,000 to $100,000. The second count is for theft of $500 to $10,000, according to the Lake County Circuit Court Clerk's Office. Bako is accused of stealing from the Frederick School PTO between April 2011 and May 2012, while she was serving as treasurer. Bako remains free on $2,500 bond. Former Frederick School PTO treasurer Elizabeth Bako, 40, of Woodland Drive, Grayslake, appeared in Lake County Circuit Court Oct. 18 for a status of preliminary hearing. According to the Lake County Circuit Court Clerk's Office, Bako is due back in court at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 29 for another preliminary hearing to determine probable cause and decide whether her case will go to trial. Bako is charged with two counts of felony theft. One count is for theft of $10,000 to $100,000. Former Frederick School PTO treasurer Elizabeth Bako has been charged with felony theft of PTO funds, according to a story posted by the Lake County-News Sun.
According to a story posted by the Lake County News-Sun, Elizabeth Bako, 40, of Grayslake, allegedly took more than $10,000 from the Frederick School PTO while acting as treasurer. She is free on $2,500 bond pending an Oct. 18 court appearance, according to the Lake County News-Sun. Grayslake District 46 Supt. Ellen Correll told Patch the district has no comment on the charges at this time because it is "still under investigation." my understanding is that the 24K in the account was not what was cleared, they still had to pay costs out of that from initial deposits. The money was still sitting in there waiting for bill to payout. this makes me wonder if many other bills did not get paid, which I can see how this is truly not a personal issue, but what the kids need and deserve.
