The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit received an anonymous tip that the Grayslake Marathon Stop & Shop gas station located at 735 E. Belvidere Road in Grayslake was selling synthetic cannabis. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the business on Friday, Nov. 16, and seized 913 grams of synthetic cannabis and $1,624 in cash. The Grayslake Police Department assisted in that search. Criminal charges are pending results from the crime laboratory. Submitted by the Lake County Sheriff's Office

The Grayslake Police Department participated in alcohol sales compliance checks during homecoming season last month with the Lake County Underage Drinking Prevention Task Force. Eight stores passed; Two failed.
During homecoming season in September and October, the Lake County Underage Drinking Prevention Task Force conducted alcohol compliance checks at 118 establishments throughout the county. Police cited 10 area stores with violations, including stores in Grayslake, Lake Zurich, Mundelein, Riverwoods and Winthrop Harbor Teenagers working with the task force purchased alcohol using identification that showed they were under the legal age of 21, according to a news release from the Lake County Underage Drinking Prevention Task Force.
