French Fiesta

CLC goes French for a week.

This week, CLC hosted National French Week activities. I was only able to attend Thursday’s events, but boy was it worthwhile! Thursday’s events mainly featured Haiti, which is about 50 percent French speaking. The first thing that I went to was a Crepe Making Demo, which featured local citizen Michael Kaplan. He and his family went to Paris and fell in love with these thin pancakes, and they decided to open up their own stand in the Grayslake farmer’s market. He went through a list of regulations, inspections, and fees that they had to go through just to be able to legally do this; it was unbelievable! However, I’m used to The Man holding people down; you wouldn’t believe how hard it is to get unpasturized goat milk in most states. The …
