LexiWynn Seeking Local Support for New 'Cross Bag' Line

The Libertyville company recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise awareness and capital for its new products.

Men can be tough to shop for. Whether it's a birthday, Valentine's Day, Christmas or some other occasion, getting ideas on what to buy can be difficult. The new Cross Bag offered by LexiWynn can make a great gift, says Libertyville resident Seth Holzwarth, who owns LexiWynn with his wife, Alexa. Made of materials like waxed canvas and leather, the bags, designed to be worn across the body, can carry a guy's iPad, laptop and other gadgets. The messenger bag is lined with wool to keep gadgets safe. "Some of the most high-end fabric you can buy is wool," said Holzwarth. The messenger bag, he said, is a perfect item for a 20- or 30-year-old who wants to transition from a regular bag to "something more sophisticated." LexiWynn is now seeking …

Local Farmer Launches Online Fundraiser

Frillman Farms is collecting online donations to go toward the purchase of new equipment.

Prairie View farmer Tim Frillman is appealing to the community for donations to help fund an improvement to his business venture. Frillman, the owner of Frillman Farms on Aptakisic Road, hopes to raise $2,500 by Feb. 11. The money would be used to purchase a heating system for his hoop house, a structure that shelters his homegrown vegetable plants. Pledges are being accepted on Kickstarter.com. In his video, Frillman explains how donations would benefit his business venture. The temperature inside the hoop house was 32 degrees when the video was made, he said. A heating system would allow him to bring the temperature to 70 degrees, protecting his peppers and tomatoes from frost and giving him a jump start on the 2013 season, he said. "…
