Lost Dogs Illinois, founded in December 2010, has helped reunite almost 4,000 dogs with their owners.
When two of her dogs went missing from two different veterinarian clinics just two months apart, Susan Taney panicked. "Even though I knew what to do, I was in a panic," said Taney, who is part of a Beagle rescue that has a dog recovery team. "I could not think straight." Thanks to her fellow Beagle rescue friends who came down from Wisconsin to help, she got both of her dogs back. "We thought, there's really nothing out there (to help people)," said Taney. The dog, Paris, went missing from Libertyville this week.
Editor's Note: This local resident asked if we would share this information about her lost dog. We are always happy to help! Please be on the lookout for her dog, Paris! ------------------- From Tracy Crane: Paris is an 8-year-old sheltie female who went missing on Tuesday 12/18 from Libertyville. She has tags with her name and my cell number, and is microchipped as well. Please check under porches, in sheds or bushes, or other places where a dog could hide to stay warm. All the area police departments have been called, as well as …

A teacup Yorkie reported stolen from its owners' Roscoe Village yard in 2010 was happily reunited with its owner Wednesday thanks to the dog's microchip, which Save-A-Pet in Grayslake was able to scan, reported nbcchicago.com. According to news reports, "Sadie" was found in poor condition at night, near a busy intersection in Grayslake. The pup's rescuer brought her to Save-A-Pet no-kill shelter and adoption center, where the microchip was scanned. "We are honored to be able to play a part in reuniting Sadie with her owner after 2.5 years! This amazing story is a great example of how important it is to have your pets microchipped. It isn't expensive and can make all the difference," wrote Save-A-Pet staff on their Facebook page. Sadie's …
