Job Boot Camp will be presented by State Rep. Sam Yingling and DeVry University at the Grayslake Library May 18.

State Rep. Sam Yingling is soliciting residents of the 62nd District to join his advisory committees and let their voice be heard in Springfield.

State Rep. Sam Yingling (D-Grayslake) is encouraging constituents to share their thoughts and help shape his legislative priorities by joining his advisory committees. “As a new state representative, my first goal is to make the voice of this district heard in Springfield,” Yingling said. “I intend to go to Springfield and tell the Legislature exactly what the people of this district expect, and these committees provide residents with an opportunity to help me do that, by sharing their ideas, their concerns, and their hopes.” Yingling will begin meeting with his advisory committees next month, in order to discuss legislation being considered by the House, and develop new legislation that can be introduced during the General Assembly’s …

Again more smoke and mirrors by Mr. Yingling. It sounds great to get community input but what will it matter when Michael Madigan pumped alot of money into his campaign. As long as the Democrats control Springfield Sam Yingling will have to due the bidding of Michael Madigan. At least with Republican state representative Sandy Cole we had some opposition to bad legislation.   more ›

Yingling Sworn in as New State Rep. of 62nd District

The former Avon Township supervisor begins his new role in government.

Sam Yingling (D-Grayslake) was officially sworn in as the new state representative of the 62nd District early today.  The former Avon Township supervisor won the November election against incumbent Sandy Cole (R-Grayslake). A press release from State Rep. John Bradley released today quotes: “Two years ago, I made the decision to run for this office because, like a lot of people in my district, I grew frustrated watching our state government fail to protect taxpayer dollars,” Yingling said. “I decided it wasn’t enough to just be angry, I had an obligation to try and do something about the status quo. It seems Sam Yingling and Lisa Rusch were unsuccessful in knocking off Independent candidates Douglas Raul Williams, Stephen Hall and James Denomie from the ballot on Monday January 21. Yingling Defeats Cole in the 62nd District

Democrat Sam Yingling, Avon Township Supervisor, defeated incumbent Illinois State Representative Sandy Cole (R-Grayslake) in the 62nd District.

Sam Yingling defeats incumbent Sandy Cole in the 62nd District. Update 9:54 p.m.: Sam Yingling pulled off an upset against incumbent Sandy Cole in the 62nd House race, as final unofficial results including early voting totals and vote by mails totals are in. Yingling was declared the winner with 20,837 votes, or 55.31%, to Cole's 16,833 votes, or 44.69%. This is with 63 out of 63 precincts reporting, according to the Lake County Clerk's website. "It's an amazing journey I never anticipated," Sam Yingling, winner of the 62nd District, told his supporters from the Comfort Inn Suites Tuesday. Early Voting Starts Monday

Cast your ballot early and avoid the Election Day rush on Nov. 6.

Early voting in Lake County starts Monday, Oct. 22 and continues through Saturday, Nov. 3. To find your early voting location, go to www.lakevoterpower.info, and enter your information. For questions, call the county clerk's office at (847) 377-2410. Hours are the same at each location, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
