Strang Funeral: Grayslake Renames Road To Honor Strang Family
The village renamed Westerfield Place as David Strang Parkway in honor of the family's 113 years in business as the Strang Funeral Home
Grayslake recognized David Strang for his personal and business contributions to the village operating the successful Strang Funeral Chapel more than 80 years by designating Westerfield Place as David Strang Parkway. “This is in respect to their long-term commitment to this community. The business itself is almost as old as the Village of Grayslake,” Mayor Rhett Taylor said during a village board meeting Aug. 2. “It recognizes the village as business friendly as well as to recognize connections within the town.” Strang is a third-generation member of his family who has run Strang Funeral Home.
