Grayslake Students Advance to Regional Finals in History Fair

Congrats, students!

On Saturday, March 2, 38 juniors from Grayslake Community High School District 127 competed at the Regional level of the Chicago Metro History Fair at Niles North High School, which consisted of schools from suburban Cook, Lake, Kane, and DuPage counties. Twenty-two Juniors were from Grayslake North, and 16 were from Grayslake Central. Grayslake Community High School District 127 is excited to announce that the following student exhibits have advanced to the Regional Finalist level of the competition which will be held at the University of Illinois-Chicago on Tuesday, April 16. Grayslake Central History Fair Topics Range from Architecture to Wrigley Gum

The Chicago Metro History Fair at GCHS featured 96 student projects.

When it came to choosing a topic for their Chicago Metro History Fair project at Grayslake Central High School, juniors Lysette Campos and Jazmin Perez decided to focus on Chicago's youngest residents. In their "Voices of the Unplanned" project, Campos and Perez explore Elizabeth McCormick and the baby tents she founded to provide care for sick and malnourished babies, along with Margaret Sanger, founder of the first birth control clinic. Their project was one of more than 96 presented in the Grayslake Central arena and library over three days this week.
