Hi, I'm a recent graduate from Roosevelt University with a bachelor's in journalism. During my time at Roosevelt, a university that prides itself on its mission for social justice, I became passionate about issues that both positively and negatively affect communities. I strongly believe in the role of a journalist as a watchdog of the government for the public.
As features editor, senior university reporter, copy editor and then editor in chief for the 2009-2010 academic year of Roosevelt University's student publication the Torch, I was able to hone my reporting, copy-editing, layout and photography skills. In addition to working on the Torch, I have also interned at WTTW-Channel 11's "Chicago Tonight" and freelanced for the tourist-focused magazine Real Chicago. As a long-time resident of Lake County I look forward to learning and writing about all things Grayslake!
