About Conscious Chicago

We are an independent company utilizing telecommuting, local freelance designers, and contracted marketing consultants.

Telecommuting reduces the amount of time behind the wheel therefore reducing carbon emissions, traffic, and pollution. It allows for more quality family time with the absence of a commute and allows for working parents to play a more active role in raising their children, creating a better future for our our society. For our sponsors and advertisers, it allows us to keep our overhead low, therefore, keeping our prices very low.

Because of our commitment to telecommuting we work from many different locations around the Chicago-Metro area.

__________________________

In old Finnish tradition there is something called haltija. Not easily translated into English, it is basically the belief that every natural thing has an energy and even intention. From a tree to a stone, every human and animal, each can affect it's surroundings through it's haltija energy.

Modern science has proven that every object is constructed of moving energy matter. Not all things have the same means of expressing their energy though. For example: a rooted plant doesn't have equal mobility as a human, but it has similar goals. A tree has a will to live, grow, compete, and reproduce just as we do. What about a stone? It doesn't grow or reproduce... Well, think about energy in a new sense. Have you ever sat in a certain place in nature, perhaps on a large rock, and felt instantly relaxed and contemplative? This could be the affect of the energies around you.

Since we, as humans, are blessed with the gifts of intelligence, reasoning, and innovation, we should consciously make an effort to affect our surroundings in a positive way. It is our responsibility.
__________________________

Food For Thought:
Sometimes it's not economical for a retailer to offer all organic or all free-range items etc., but many retailers are doing their best to offer as many of these types of choices as possible.

On the same note, it's not always in a shopper's budget to shop for only these types of items. The cost of social, environmental, and health conscious choices compared to the traditional less healthy options is usually higher.

Many times that means that families with lower incomes can't afford to eat as healthy as the rest of us, and this is a shame.

So how can we encourage retailers to stock better choices?
&
How can we help make organics and other healthy choices more affordable for everyone?

Make a point of purchasing social, environmental, and health conscious items like free-trade, cage-free, free-range, organic, local, eco-friendly, environmentally responsible. This will encourage retailers to stock more conscious choices, driving down the cost for everyone.

If you are the type of person that feels that every purchase is a vote for better health and a better future, Conscious Chicago is your new home.

For inquiries by email:
info@ConsciousChicago.com

For inquiries by phone:
312-473-1499

For inquiries by mail:
4221 Wildwood Dr., Crystal Lake IL 60014
