Police Search for Shooter in Sunday Wauconda Shooting

The shooting victim's girlfriend and children were in the apartment at the time of the shooting but were not hurt, according to media reports.

Local police are searching for the shooter accused of shooting a 26-year-old man on Sunday around 8:30 p.m. in the victim's second-floor apartment on south Main Street in Wauconda, according to the Daily Herald. 

The man is in stable condition following the shooting, according to the Daily Herald. 

Police are searching for three suspects who they say fled the scene in a dark-colored following the shooting, according to ABC7 Chicago. Police have not released any descriptions regarding the suspects and also have not identified the shooting victim as of Monday morning, according to the article. 

The Chicago Tribune reports the incident began as a home invasion after the suspects forced their way into the man's apartment. Police continue to investigate a motive in the shooting.
